So, this is my first entry into the world of Handmade Monday, a linky involving lots of wonderful creative people and their amazing creations. So here goes………..
Because I was taking part in the first Bizart Fair on Saturday, this week was spent in a flurry of making and creating so that there was plenty to put on the stall.
I made some of these calorie free chocolates.
And continuing with the heart theme I made some paper pulp hearts. I found the “recipe” in a papercrafting book that I bought years and years ago but had never used. It was great fun tearing up paper, immersing it in water and then pulping it with a hand blender. Even more exciting was waiting for them to come out of the Rayburn’s warming oven – I have to admit that I did keep peeping, which probably meant they took a lot longer to dry out than they should have.
So, there it is, my first Handmade Monday post. If you like it, please pop over to 1st Unique Gifts blog and have a look at all the other loveliness there.

It really is great fun, but agonising waiting for them to dry out!

Love the fuzzies you made – they look like you could eat them! I used to make handmade paper years ago and I can well remember what fun all that tearing and pulping was – though not the clearing up afterwards!!

Yes, and they splatter all over the kitchen as you start to pulp them up – I’m still finding bits of paper stuck to the walls!

Welcome to Handmade Monday, love the needlefelting, the hearts look really substantial… and the chocs looks gorgeous, I think I could get over the disappointment of them not being real as they look fantastic 🙂

Tee hee! Thank you.

Welcome…. I love paper pulping, when I do it I use a barrier to stop the splashes.

This is one you can buy but I made my own using an old lid and cutting a cross in the centre and/or a slit from the centre to the edge. You could always make one out of card.
TIP: make it larger than your bowl so you can move the blender around easier.
Jan 🙂

Thank you Jan, that’s a great tip! I will try it next time.

Everything is so pretty! I especially love the paper hearts, I used to make paper, but I have not done it in quiet some time (that is since I started my blog last year). I really REALLY need to do it again. I don’t believe I ever made anything quite so pretty as your hearts tho! WOW.
t1ckledp1nk said:
Thank you. They were really easy to do as well. x
